Treetop Walk at MacRitchie Reservoir

Outdoor Pursuits

A wild date anyone? The HSBC Treetop Walk would be best for those who are fit for a good 11km hike and isn't acrophobia. Located in the forest of MacRitchie Reservoir, the first Singapore's reservoir, built in the 1860s. Take a walk on the wooden boardwalks and trails skirting on the edge of the MacRitchie Reservoir and through the forest. After a tiresome walk of 5 km in the forest, you will get to the highlight of the hiking routes in MacRitchie. This 250m long and 27 metres high suspension bridge connects the 2 highest points of the reservoir - Bukit Pierce and Bukit Kalang. It offers a spectacular canopy-level contrast to the usual under-story view from the jungle floor.

Historic Walk at Fort Canning Hill

Outdoor Pursuits

Fort Canning is the most historic part of Singapore. Fort Canning has a long history that goes as far as the 14th century when it was still during the reign of the Malay Kingdom, Temasek. Fort Canning is now a unique city park with countless performances. Its recreational gardens are filled with the sweet scent of lemongrass, cloves, pandan plants and the "tongkat ali" plants with couples posing for pictures with scenic views of the town.

Want to share a private moment with your love? You can find the most private seats at the summit of the Fort Canning Hill, and you will certainly find yourselves stargazing.

Canoeing

Outdoor Pursuits

If you are looking to reach and enjoy true solitude with your loved one - canoeing in warm ocean water or still and clear waters of Singapore's various reservoirs. Paddle and explore the idyllic waters in and around Singapore, catch a bit of the sun and live up the fitness spirit. To rent your double kayak, head over to any of the sea sports operators at Changi Point, East Coast Park, MacRitchie Reservoir, Kallang Sea Sports Club and Sentosa Island. Working together to pilot your own little canoe built-for-two across the mighty ocean/ lake brings you together in a way that dinner and a movie just can't.

Cycling

Outdoor Pursuits

Cycling is a great way to explore the parks and natural reserves of Singapore. Cycling tracks are abound in the parks, so rent a couple of bikes and cruise along while enjoying the pleasant and serene ambience. But if you want something really tougher than flat ground, try mountain biking at Bukit Timah Nature Reserve or Pulau Ubin. These are untamed tracks, rough and raw, going over steep slopes and gravel paths, crossing into some of Singapore's wilderness and outback sites.

Rollerblading at East Coast Park

Outdoor Pursuits

If holding hands with your sweetheart and rollerblading is your thing, head to the tree-lined East Coast Park and feel the sea breeze gently caress your face. Simply rent a pair of skates from one of the many rental kiosks and get onto the rollerblading track that runs along the perimeter of the park, which measures at least 20 km long. You can blade though a McDonald's restaurant, a world's first skate thru outlet, to purchase drinks or ice cream to quench your thirst. Or if you're a novice, you can take lessons conducted by Skateline, a certified skate school.
