Asian Civilisations Museum

 

With a mandate to provide an Asia-wide insight into the legacies of the past and the cultural traditions of the peoples who live in the region, the museum is a fascinating blend of permanent and changing themed exhibitions. Located by the romantic Singapore River, the Asian Civilisations Museum (ACM) showcases 5,000 years of Asian cultures. . With more than 1300 artifacts, visitors to this 14,000 square metre national monument can immerse themselves in the ancient civilisations of China, Southeast Asia, South Asia and West Asia/Islamic.

ChinaTown Arts Belt

 

In 1998, the upper storeys of eight buildings along Smith Street and two at Trengganu Street were acquired by the National Arts Council and conserved specially for the arts. Since then, these spaces have been allocated to arts groups that specialise in Cantonese Opera, Beijing Opera, Teochew Opera, music, theatre, calligraphy as well as literature. Arts groups housed in this area include the Chinese Theatre Circle and Toy Factory Theatre Ensemble.

Esplanade

 

Esplanade - Theatres on the Bay is without a doubt, Singapore's most exciting performance arts venue to date. Located at the waterfront overlooking Marina Bay, the complex with its distinctive dome-shaped roofs comprises a 1,600-seat concert hall, a 2,000-seat theatre and several recital rooms, theatre and rehearsal studios, as well as outdoor performing spaces.
