| Singapore is
a favorite haunt for celebrities who are always looking for an holiday
to rewind and rejuvenate with their loved one. For actress Malaika
Arora Khan, who leads an extremely hectic work routine, a holiday
in Singapore means spending quality time with husband Arbaaz, lots
of shopping and pampering herself at the best salons and . "Also
being a complete foodie, I love the place as you can get to taste
the cuisines from across the world, in the innumerable restaurants
there ", she says. Malaika's idea of absolute fun and indulgence
is a stay at the beautiful Sentosa island. "After an exhausting
trip around Singapore, me and my husband enjoy unwinding at the magnificent
Sentosa island."
Says South Indian movie icon Madhavan who had a five day exciting
holiday in the island. "It was a trip that turned out to be
memorable for more than one reason. I stayed on the 69th floor of
Singapore's tallest hotel, the Swissotel, which made for a most
unique experience. Being a complete technology freak, I purchased
lots of electronic items thanks to the fabulous discounts and offers
at the Great Singapore Sale (GSS)." With items such as the
Ipod nano, which was offered at a flat 50 per cent discount, digital
cameras, DVDs, MP3 players, the actor had a field day. The daylong
jaunts at the malls and stores sapped his energy leaving him tired
- after which he and his wife dropped by at some of the exclusive
pampering zones and indulged in a 40-minute massage at a luxurious
spa."
Having a zest for adventure, the other aspect of Madhavan's trip
was the reverse bungee jumping which is like a bungee rocket, in
which one is flung 400 meters into the air at 160 kmph! An absolutely
thrilling experience, he enjoyed every bit of it. Another activity
that proved to be a true ecstasy ride was scuba diving with the
sharks, where Madhavan even got hold of a tiger's shark.
Malaika believes Singapore is amazing in every way: "The discipline,
development and sightseeing opportunities are unbelievable. Alongside
the ultra- modern buildings and infrastructure co-exists the beautiful
amalgamation of Chinese, Malay and Indian tradition giving the place
a truly unique culture. I have visited Singapore many times, but
each trip is fun as I discover a beautiful aspect of Singapore and
grow fonder of the place."
